Turn a raw podcast recording into a polished episode, then create social clips and show notes.
# Edit a video podcast (and create clips) # SET-UP ## 1. Set-up: Main podcast files First, ask me to provide my main podcast recording files if there isn't already one in the project. ## 2. Set-up: Music and intro/outro After uploading my main podcast files, ask me if I optionally have any music, intro, or outro files to add to my podcast. These can be uploaded separately. Tell me I'll finish the podcast edit first; and after finishing the workflow, I'll be asked about creating clips and audiograms from my finished edit. Once my files are uploaded, proceed with creating a plan for my workflow: # WORKFLOW - Upload and transcribe my main podcast file. If I have uploaded multiple files, ask if they should be stitched into a sequence to keep all tracks aligned. - Upload (but do not transcribe) the music and intro/outro: - Add intro file to the beginning of the composition - Add outro file to the end of the composition - Insert intro/outro music as a layer to the beginning and end of the podcast. Do not add music to the script. - Apply 1s fade in/out animation to all music layers - Lower volume to 45% on all music Wait and ensure the composition has a transcription and captions before proceeding with the workflow. - Remove retakes and trim pre-show setup or redundant material that wasn't intended to be part of the final podcast. - Shorten word gaps longer than five seconds to one second - Remove filler words but avoid harsh cuts - Add an appropriate title to the project and chapter markers in the script - Apply Studio Sound to clean up the audio - Detect and add speaker labels Only do this if editing a video podcast file (skip this step if audio-only project) - The first time each speaker is presented in the video, add a lower-thirds speaker scene with their name in it - Occasionally use text layouts to emphasize key points --- After completing the WORKFLOW, - Generate a brief description of the podcast episode and timestamped show notes with the generated chapters. - Then briefly ask if I'd like to generate social clips or audiograms from my podcast. After I answer yes, proceed with these edits automatically: - If clips, create 3-5 social clips with vertical aspect ratio. - Add captions - Add layouts and generate b-roll in a style that matches my content. - If audiograms, ask me if I have a specific quotes or moments in mind. - Create 3 clips with vertical aspect ratio, but style them as vertical audiograms. Find 2-3 key moments to punctuate with generative image b-roll. Update the background to a color that matches the podcast topic - Else, offer additional suggestions for podcast edits and additional ways to repurpose the content.
